Cactus Bloom – 4.5″ x 4.5″ Mosaic on BFK Rives Paper
One of my favorite locations to get away and unplug is Turkey, Texas. Up there my in-laws have a house they keep up and every year we make a trek up to Turkey for the Bob Wills Weekend fun. Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, is the king of country swing. I’m not much of a country music fan, however going up there and hearing the constant live music and jam sessions, it grows on you fast. On the side of the house where we stayed, there’s a good amount of cactus going wild and most of which had bloomed these yellow flowers. So I took a few shots and filtered it in my Instagram feed. Since I was prepping for an exhibit, working in miniatures, I figured this is a good subject to work up a mosaic while making a mark on my trip this year.
